STRIKING CHANCE

A brightly coloured bird about to launch itself from the gnarled branch on which it has been sitting. The branch sprouts flowers of differing shapes and forms. The bird itself seems to have adopted the same floral design for its head crest.
I chose a fairly intense yellow as the backdrop occupying most of this composition using a cadmium pigment with a little titanium white. Spots of yellow ochre and other cadmiums have been used here and there to give little variations of tone

This painting comes unframed and is painted on a rigid masonite fibre panel.
The paint mediums have been prepared in my studio. The color pigments are of a very fine grade and lightfast. Very resistant to fading when exposed to light.
